Kati Metsäjoki

Kati Metsäjoki possesses extensive experience in research and development within the coatings industry, currently serving as Manager for R&D and Technology at UPM Raflatac since January 2007. In this role, Kati leads the R&D laboratory network and supervises a team of regional leaders, while also fulfilling responsibilities as the global coating team leader and consultant, focusing on global coating portfolio development and sustainability-driven technical strategies. Prior to this, Kati held the position of Global Development Manager for Coatings, managing R&D initiatives and supporting the development of water-based coatings and related products. Earlier experience includes a researcher role at UPM, where challenges in paper mill processes were addressed. Kati holds a Master of Science in Applied Chemistry from the University of Jyväskylä and has studied at North Carolina State University.
