Shireen Thomas is an experienced professional in healthcare information technology, currently serving as the Director of IT Operations in the Office of the CIO at UPMC since July 2013. In this role, Shireen leads a team to manage strategic technology initiatives aimed at enhancing the IT experience for employees and end users in support of UPMC's mission. Prior to this position, Shireen held the roles of Staff Associate to the CIO and participated in the Information Services Division Rotational Program, gaining diverse experience in healthcare IT. In addition, Shireen has contributed to academics as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Pittsburgh and served on the Board of Directors for Western Pennsylvania HIMSS. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Robert Morris University.
