Denis Makoshenko has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Most recently, in 2022, they are serving as the Director of Software Engineering at UPMEM. Prior to this, from 2020 to 2021, they worked as the Research Director for Turing Business at Huawei.
Before that, Denis had an extensive tenure at Intel Corporation, where they held various positions. These include serving as the Director of OpenVINO Platform Enabling from 2019 to 2020, leading the Neural Networks Compiler Team in OpenVINO from 2018 to 2019, and working as the Software Engineering Director for Embedded Compilers from 2017 to 2018. Denis also had roles such as Software Engineering Director for Open Source Compilers in 2016, Engineering Manager from 2008 to 2016, and Software Engineer from 2003 to 2008.
Furthermore, Denis began their career in 1989 as a junior developer in game development for BK, and they remained in this position until 1993. Throughout their career, Denis has gained expertise in software engineering, compiler development, open source, and various management roles.
Denis Makoshenko pursued their education in the field of Computer Science at Southern Federal University (former Rostov State University) from 1997 to 2003. During this period, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Denis later continued their academic journey at the same institution from 2005 to 2011, where they earned another Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, specializing in Computer Science.
