Beth Hatch has extensive work experience in the library field, starting in 2003 as a Library Assistant at Greenville Public Library. Beth then worked as a Technology Assistant at Kingsville Public Library from April 2005 to October 2006. From October 2006 to November 2012, Beth served as a Librarian, Reference, Public Relations, and Marketing at Twinsburg Public Library, where they were responsible for compiling program and event information, creating marketing materials, and managing the library's magazine.
In 2012, Beth joined Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library as a Virtual Service Manager, overseeing the library's virtual services, website, and electronic resources. Beth also managed the budget for virtual programs and services. Beth moved to Cleveland Public Library in February 2014, where they served as the IT Virtual Services Manager. In this role, they oversaw the design, development, and maintenance of web systems and services. Beth also chaired the CLEVNET Online Resources Committee and conducted trials for consortium databases.
From September 2015 to December 2016, Beth worked as a Special Projects Manager at Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library, conducting market research, managing grants, and overseeing special projects. Beth then joined ABC Book Review Podcast as a cohost, reviewing books of different genres along with Cari Dubiel. Beth's most recent position is as the Director of Perry Public Library, where they served from January 2017 to October 2019. In this role, they held major administrative responsibilities and implemented library policies in accordance with the goals established by the Library Board.
Currently, Beth is the Director of Upper Arlington Public Library, starting in October 2019. In this position, they are responsible for implementing library policies, designing and directing educational and cultural programs, and reporting to the Board of Trustees.
Beth Hatch obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General from Kent State University, having completed their studies from 1999 to 2003. Beth later pursued a Master of Library & Information Science (M.L.I.S.) degree with a focus on Library and Information Science from the same university, which they successfully completed from 2003 to 2006. In 2021, Beth graduated from Lake Erie College with a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) degree, although the specific field of study is not specified. Additionally, they obtained a certification in "Interviewing, Hiring & Motivating Employees in 21st Century Libraries" from the Northeast Ohio Regional Library System, awarded by Credly, in June 2015.
