Gradon Haehnel

Gradon Haehnel has a strong background in the utilities industry, with a focus on finance, regulatory affairs, and engineering. Gradon most recently served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Upper Peninsula Power Company, where they were responsible for overseeing all operations and strategic initiatives. Prior to that, Haehnel held positions such as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Vice President of Regulatory, Director of Regulatory Affairs, and Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at the same company. In these roles, they demonstrated their expertise in accounting, treasury, planning, regulatory affairs, power supply, and energy efficiency functions.

Before joining Upper Peninsula Power Company, Haehnel worked at Emera Maine, where they served as Senior/Manager of Engineering & Asset Management, Manager of Rates, and Senior/Rates & Regulatory Analyst. In these roles, they successfully managed capital planning, transmission development, revenue requirements, rate making responsibilities, and revenue and sales forecasting. Gradon Haehnel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science degree in Resource and Applied Economics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
