Jorge Torre

Jorge Torre has worked as a Software Programmer at Upshop since April 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Publix Super Markets from April 2017 to April 2020, where they held the role of Programmer on the Fresh Systems Team. In this role, they developed and maintained the Fresh Production Replenishment (FPR) System using C#, Visual Studio, and SQL. Jorge also developed an Android version of FPR using Xamarin.Forms and C#, replacing the old hand scanners at Publix with new Android-based hand scanners. Additionally, they developed a replacement for the old Publix inventory system using C# and Xamarin.

Before joining Publix, Jorge Torre worked as a Cloud Support Dev Intern at SunGard Public Sector from June 2015 to April 2017. In this role, they were part of a team responsible for handling cases and writing hot fixes using Java, JSP, XML, CSS, and HTML. Jorge also worked with SQL databases and ran test cases during the release of new application versions. Jorge was involved in server migrations and conducted hand off calls with customers, explaining new features and demonstrating products.

Jorge Torre obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida, where they attended from 2012 to 2016.
