Dan Williams

Dan Williams has extensive work experience in the software development field. Dan currently works as a Development Lead at KrakenFlex, where they lead an agile team in building a cloud-based virtual energy platform. In this role, they utilize Java, Kubernetes, Node, AWS Lambda, and React.

Prior to their current role, Dan served as a Solutions Architect at SIS Betting, where they designed a resilient and scalable platform for delivering customized regional streams. Dan also worked on a project to migrate all Java applications to Docker Swarm, aiming to consolidate hardware, reduce costs, and improve development and delivery times.

Before SIS Betting, Dan held the position of Software Development Manager at the same company. In this role, they managed the Manchester development activities for a team of 20 developers working in an agile environment. Dan oversaw the development of an automated video production system and other products and services.

Dan previously worked as a Java Team Lead at SIS Betting, where they led a team of 14 developers in delivering sports data-related products and services. Notably, they developed a new data collection and delivery service for in-play football data, which is now used by a top European league.

Prior to joining SIS Betting, Dan worked as a Senior Java Developer, developing and maintaining Java applications for the betting industry. Dan successfully migrated the company's production platform to a new site and updated the source control repository and build and deployment process for all applications.

Before their tenure at SIS Betting, Dan worked as a Software Engineer at Ultra Electronics, where they developed and maintained large-scale systems used in airports worldwide. Dan also provided remote and on-site support to customers and delivered training courses on product usage.

Dan's earlier work experience includes a brief role as a Programmer at CDL, an IT Engineer position at Teleca, and roles as a CAD Assistant and IT Assistant at Egniol Environmental Limited.

Dan Williams attended The Manchester Metropolitan University from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a degree in Multimedia Computing with a focus on Computer Science. Prior to that, from 1995 to 2000, they attended Ysgol Friars, but it is unknown if they obtained any degree or field of study at this institution. In addition to their formal education, Dan holds certifications including Java Certified Programmer from Sun Microsystems and Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance, though the specific dates of when they obtained these certifications are unknown.
