Dan's earlier work experience includes a brief role as a Programmer at CDL, an IT Engineer position at Teleca, and roles as a CAD Assistant and IT Assistant at Egniol Environmental Limited.

Dan Williams attended The Manchester Metropolitan University from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a degree in Multimedia Computing with a focus on Computer Science. Prior to that, from 1995 to 2000, they attended Ysgol Friars, but it is unknown if they obtained any degree or field of study at this institution. In addition to their formal education, Dan holds certifications including Java Certified Programmer from Sun Microsystems and Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance, though the specific dates of when they obtained these certifications are unknown.
