Neil Jones has extensive work experience in the field of energy innovation and low carbon development. Neil currently serves as a Senior Account Manager at KrakenFlex, where they are responsible for managing key accounts and facilitating the rollout of large-scale energy storage projects. Neil also works with UK Energy 'Big 6' clients to develop new services and revenue streams using KrakenFlex's platform. Prior to this role, they held a position as an Account Manager at KrakenFlex.
Before joining KrakenFlex, Neil worked as an Innovation Programme Manager at Upside, where they oversaw the company's innovation portfolio in the areas of domestic energy demand-side response. Neil was responsible for developing and managing projects, writing bids, and engaging with stakeholders.
Neil's earlier experience includes serving as a Low Carbon Energy Innovation Manager at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. In this role, they provided leadership and strategic vision to support Greater Manchester's energy innovation initiatives, including smart grid integration, renewable generation, and energy storage. Neil also played a key role in securing funding for projects and representing the region at international conferences.
Prior to their work at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Neil worked as an Environmental Strategy Officer at Manchester City Council. Neil contributed to the council's low carbon objectives by developing and implementing projects, engaging stakeholders, and securing investment for energy efficiency retrofits in Greater Manchester households.
Before their career in the energy sector, Neil had general work experience in various roles.
Neil Jones has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Classical and Ancient Studies from The University of Manchester. Neil also holds a Master's degree in Town Planning from the same institution. Neil obtained their Bachelor's degree between 1999 and 2002, while their Master's degree was completed from 2008 to 2009.
