Senior Engineering Analyst at Upside Energy

Takuma Miyake has worked in various roles in the engineering field since 2010. Takuma began their career at TOYOBO, a 400 billion yen manufacturer of synthetic chemical products, as an Electrical Engineer in the Design and Maintenance Management Section. During their time there, they designed and improved engineering of electrical control systems for factory automation, and was ranked in the top 5 for performance among 80+ engineers for two consecutive years. In 2015, they joined Siemens as a Technical Consultant, where they consulted automation solutions complying with Industry 4.0 concept and completed several global projects with tier-1 Japanese automotive companies. In 2018, they moved to Enel X as a DR Operations Engineer, leading operations for Demand Response (DR) programs in Japan with global teams. Their main operations included installing energy meters at customer sites and managing and improving Enel X's IT platform. Takuma also completed a battery project with an electrical engineer perspective. Most recently, in 2022, they joined KrakenFlex (Octopus Energy Group) as a Senior Engineering Analyst.

Takuma Miyake completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Nagoya Institute of Technology between 2007 and 2008. Takuma then went on to earn a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution between 2009 and 2010. After that, they earned an Engineer's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Suzuka National College of Technology between 2001 and 2006. Finally, they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in IT management for Business from the University of Exeter between 2014 and 2015. Additionally, they obtained a Chief Electrical Engineer (3rd) certification from the Government of Japan in 2011 and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2021.
