Jim Schooler

Jim Schooler has extensive work experience in electrical engineering and management roles. Jim is currently employed as the Electrical Engineering Manager at Upstart Power, Inc. since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at UTC Aerospace Systems as a Principal Electrical Engineer from October 2017 to August 2021.

From 2005 to 2017, Schooler worked at Ericsson as a Hardware Engineering Manager. In this role, they led a team of engineers responsible for designing new SmartGrid communication equipment, integrating existing products, and enhancing product uptime during outages. Jim also ensured EMI/EMC test success and compliance with wireless carrier certification and IEC regulations.

Before Ericsson, Schooler worked at Ambient Corporation as a Principal Engineer from June 2005 to September 2014. Here, they led a team in designing and developing power quality monitoring subsystems for utility environments.

Prior to that, Schooler held principal engineering roles at Actuality Systems, Inc, Telica, Inc, Fujitsu-Nexion, General Datacomm, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Racal Interlan, Inc, where they contributed to the design and development of various hardware and networking solutions.
