Behram Wali

Lead Research Scientist at Urban Design 4 Health

Dr. Behram Wali is the Lead Research Scientist at UD4H. Prior to joining the team at UD4H in 2018, Behram served as a Graduate Research Assistant at University of Tennessee, where he earned his Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering and M.S. degree in Statistics. He attended the Senseable City Lab at MIT for his postdoctoral training in Smart Cities. His research focuses on various types of innovations related to Connected and Automated Vehicles, intelligent transportation systems, urban mobility (connected, automated, shared, and electric vehicles), transport safety, alternative-fuel vehicles, and the interdependence between built-environment, travel behavior, and health care costs and utilization. By using sophisticated Big Data analytic and number crunching methods, he specializes in the development and application of advanced statistical, econometric, and machine learning methods to prospect opportunities for designing safer and smarter transportation systems.
