Julio Salcedo Fernandez

Julio Salcedo Fernandez is a principal at Scalar Architecture since January 2001 and has served as the Director of the Master of Urban Planning in Urban Design and Chairperson at the Spitzer School of Architecture at City College of New York since May 2015. Julio is a Fellow at the Urban Design Forum and has acted as Committee Co-Chair at the AIA New York | Center for Architecture since January 2018. Previous board involvement includes serving as a Member of the Board of Trustees at the International School of Brooklyn from April 2015 to July 2022. Academic experience includes roles as a Visiting Professor at Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania in 2006, and as an Adjunct Professor at Syracuse University in 2004 and Harvard University from 2001 to 2004. Notable design experience includes a position as Senior Designer at SOM from 1997 to 1999. Julio holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a BA in Architecture and Sculpture from Rice University.
