Sanjoy Banerjee

Sanjoy Banerjee currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of Urban Electric Power, a position held since May 2012. Additionally, Sanjoy holds the title of Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at The City College of New York and serves as the Director of the Energy Institute at the City University of New York since January 2008. Prior academic positions include Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1980 to 2007, Professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley from 1976 to 1981, Westinghouse Professor of Engineering Physics at McMaster University from 1976 to 1980, and Acting Director of Applied Science at Atomic Energy of Canada from 1968 to 1976. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
