Jared Krause believes that all design engineers can benefit from working in the field because of the real-world perspective they gain. “You could be the best engineer in the world but when you come to the field, if you don’t have common sense, you’re not going to be very successful.” As a kid, Jared Krause was always building things with his hands, so becoming a special inspector monitoring construction on skyscrapers always seemed in the cards for him.
After serving as a practice leader and project manager providing special inspection services to clients in New York City, Jared is now a Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Facilities Construction Services at Urban and helps oversee special inspections work across throughout the country.
Already an accomplished professional, Jared has more than 12 years of experience in engineering design, construction management, and construction inspection on a range of projects including high-rise development, tenant fit-out, site development, and horizontal infrastructure improvements. His most recent responsibilities have included overseeing the firm’s special inspection practice in New York City on projects at the Empire State Building, and the offices of Facebook, Eli Lilly, Deloitte, Etsy, and more. Jared is a licensed Professional Engineer in four states, a Certified Welding Inspector, and a graduate of Rowan University - where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management.
