Jim Bilella

VP, Market Leader for Buildings & Development at Urban Engineers

As Vice President, General Manager of Facilities & Building Systems, James Bilella, PE oversees the firm’s Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering services, as well as Fire Protection and IT Systems design.

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Biella’s background includes design, system and equipment selection, project field administration, specification writing, feasibility and conditions reports. Throughout his years in the industry, he has had the pleasure to be involved with projects that have improved everyday experiences, including public and private educational institutions, museums, performing arts centers, housing developments, financial and corporate centers, shopping malls, hotels, and transportation-related facilities.

When he is not designing improvements behind the scenes, he is actively involved in his community up front and personal by serving as Mayor of Berlin Borough, NJ, a historic town of 7,500 people, a role he is proud to have been inspired to pursue based on his father’s contributions to the community. He is also an award-winning artist, truly a jack of all trades.

A Registered Professional Engineer in 23 states and a registered member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering, Mr. Bilella received his bachelor’s from Drexel University. He is actively involved in the American Society of Heat, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Associate of Museums (AAM), Construction Owners Association of America (COAA), Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC), Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), International Code Council (ICC) and the Society of American Military Engineers.
