Scott Diehl

As Chief Traffic Engineer, Scott J. Diehl, PE, PTOE, PP, AICP, leads the firm’s traffic practice nationwide. Within his role, he is responsible for working with all offices on strategic pursuits as well as various types of projects.

With over 20 years of experience, Scott has developed an extensive background in both transportation engineering and transportation planning. His experience contains an impressive portfolio that ranges from small-scale traffic impact, intersection, and highway feasibility studies to detailed analysis and design of entire transportation systems with the integration of land use planning. Recent experience includes a focus on traffic operations including signal optimization for corridors throughout the State of New Jersey with over 150 intersections on nine (9) corridors being re-timed in the last two years. Additionally, Mr. Diehl has worked on a number of high-profile integrated land use and transportation projects including the National Award winning Route 31 Integrated Land Use and Transportation Plan.

Outside of the office, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and getting outdoors. He enjoys golfing and coaching his daughter’s soccer teams.

A Registered Professional Engineer in 6 states, Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE), Professional Planner (PP), and Certified Planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Scott earned his master’s in civil engineering from the University of Virginia and his bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Delaware.
