Virat Kapur is an experienced Lead Transmission Planning Engineer at Urban Grid since April 2020, with a notable background in the energy sector. Previously, Virat served as a Senior Resource Adequacy Engineer and Senior Expansion Planning Engineer at Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) from February 2013 to December 2019, focusing on capacity calculations and transmission planning compliance. Prior to that, Virat held roles such as Senior Transmission Planning Engineer at Electric Power Engineers, Inc. and Planning Engineer II at the Electrical Reliability Council of Texas, working on various regulatory, economic review, and reliability studies. An academic foundation is established with a PhD and Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas, and a Bachelor's degree in Power Electronics from Nagpur University.
