Mark Dischler

Mark Dischler is the CTO of Urban Insight and has over 10 years of experience in technology and digital strategy. Mark has a proven track record of leading teams and improving processes with a focus on the user experience. Prior to joining Urban Insight, Mark was the Director of Technology and Digital Strategy at the International Documentary Association (IDA) where they were responsible for major advancements in technology, communications, social media, and branding. During their time at IDA, Mark orchestrated the rewrite and relaunch of the IDA’s website (documentary.org), which improved site navigation and architecture, increased average time on site by 38%, new sessions by 15% and decreased abandonment by 11%. Mark also streamlined the UX for checkout by reducing clicks and fields by 60%, resulting in 90% increase in recurring paid memberships and 50% increase in donations. In addition to their work at IDA, Mark has also worked as a Product Owner at Castifi, a web application that provides on-demand casting for background actors for films and television. At Castifi, they led development of the product, defined features, oversaw sprint planning and user research. Mark also streamlined the onboarding process for acquiring new background actors which decreased registration drop offs by 23% per day and increased photo uploads by 67%.

Mark Dischler received a BA in Japanese and Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor's degree from Waseda University. Mark is certified by Google in Google Analytics and by the Scrum Alliance as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). Mark also has a certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF).
