Andrew Trueblood

Nonresident Fellow at URBAN INSTITUTE

Andrew Trueblood is a seasoned urban planning and economic development professional with extensive experience in both public and private sectors. Currently serving as a Nonresident Fellow at the Urban Institute, Senior Advisor for Economic Development at America Achieves, and Principal at Trueblood.city, Andrew is also a Visiting Faculty member at Georgetown University. Previously, Andrew held key roles including Director of the DC Office of Planning, where a focus on housing and equity was prioritized, and Commissioner of the National Capital Planning Commission. Andrew was instrumental in various initiatives during tenure at the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, including the promotion of Opportunity Zones and the #ObviouslyDC campaign for Amazon HQ2. Andrew holds a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
