Iman Shah

Iman Shah is a Staff Attorney at Urban Justice Center, specializing in representing clients in appeals for Social Security disability benefits. Previously, Iman served as a Student Board Member at East Bay Community Law Center, a Law Clerk for TGI Justice Project focusing on supporting marginalized individuals in the carceral system, and a Summer Legal Intern at The Bronx Defenders, providing representation in criminal defense. Other experiences include legal internships in asylum representation, housing law, and workers' rights, alongside leadership roles in initiatives for name and gender changes and community support for LGBTQ+ individuals at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Iman holds a JD from UC Berkeley and a BA in Journalism and Women's & Gender Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
