Joy Ziegeweid

Joy Ziegeweid is a Supervising Immigration Attorney at the Urban Justice Center since April 2017 and a Senior Visiting Fellow at Immigrant ARC since March 2022, where advocacy efforts focus on the immigration legal needs of Ukrainians. Previously, as a Staff Attorney at Sanctuary for Families from September 2012 to March 2017, Joy represented survivors of gender-based violence in immigration matters and led a partnership to file a federal lawsuit. Joy has also worked as a Planning and Development Specialist at Mott MacDonald and as a Paralegal at Spiegel & McDiarmid. Education includes a JD from Columbia Law School, an MS in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan, and a BA in Russian and East European Studies from Macalester College.
