Charles M. Washington

Charles Washington is a board member at the Urban League of Essex County. Charles was previously the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Entrepreneurship at the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation from October 2015 to June 2021. There, they provided strategic leadership and implemented business planning strategies to lead the Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship Department. Charles's duties also included cultivating and maintaining strong strategic partnerships, fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation strategies, and event management initiatives. As a member of the executive management team, they participated in public policy development, debate, and strategies to influence legislation in collaboration with the board of directors.

Charles Washington has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Stockton University. Charles also attended University High School.
