Vice President, Litigation, Labor & Employment at Urban One

Stephanie Epps has extensive experience in the legal field, with a focus on litigation, labor, and employment matters. Stephanie currently holds the position of Vice President, Litigation, Labor & Employment at Urban One, Inc, where they provide legal advice to the corporate office and all business divisions. In this role, Stephanie oversees outside counsel and major corporate and employment contracts.

Prior to their current role, Stephanie worked at WSSC Water as an Associate General Counsel, Employment. Stephanie also served as the Acting EEO Officer, managing internal EEO complaint and investigation processes, and developing training programs.

Before joining WSSC Water, Stephanie was an Associate County Attorney at Prince George's County, Maryland. In this role, they represented the county in various litigation matters and mentored junior lawyers.

Stephanie started their legal career as the Principal at the Law Office of Stephanie D. Kinder, PA, where they represented companies in contractual disputes, premises liability, and employment litigation matters. Stephanie provided counsel on hiring, discipline, and termination issues, as well as drafted and negotiated various agreements.

Stephanie also worked as a Senior Associate at Brown Diffenderffer & Kearney LLP and held positions as an Assistant County Attorney at the New Castle County Law Department and as a Deputy Attorney General at the Attorney General's Office in the State of Delaware.

Stephanie Epps has a Doctor of Law - JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts - BA degree in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University. Stephanie also holds additional certifications, including a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University ILR School, and is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
