Basim Basheer Thayyil

Basim Basheer Thayyil has held a variety of roles since 2013. Basim was the Treasurer for the Lancaster University Muay Thai Society in 2013, and the Editor for TMA Worldwide & Asian Lite in the same year. In 2014, they were an Optimisation Desk Analyst at RWE npower, where they provided a high level of analytical support and was responsible for providing access to risk management software. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Hudson Energy as a Contract & Pricing Analyst, where they were responsible for setting up, credit checking and pricing sales tenders accurately. During this time, they also worked at Gazprom Energy as a Commercial Analyst. In 2018, they joined Energi Mine as an Energy Analyst, where they liaised and worked closely with developers around the world to build a complete pricing & tendering energy management system using Artificial Intelligence. Basim also increased their proficiency in using Reuters to analyse power and gas markets in the UK & Europe and provided trading recommendation to clients with net spend of over £25m. In 2020, they joined UrbanChain as a Commercial Manager and Trading & Pricing Manager.

Basim Basheer Thayyil attended Abraham Moss High School from 2007 to 2010. Basim then attended Loreto Sixth Form College from 2010 to 2012, where they completed A level studies. In 2012, they started their Bachelor's Degree at Lancaster University, specializing in Business Studies with a focus on Finance & Management Science, which they completed in 2016.
