Rich Lechner has over 25 years of professional experience. Rich began their career in 1994 as a Sales Manager for IBM in Europe. Rich then moved into various roles at IBM, including Vice President of Business & IT Services Marketing, Vice President of Cloud & Services Marketing, Vice President of Energy & Environment, Vice President of Virtualization, Vice President of Marketing & Strategy for Storage Systems, and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Enterprise Servers. In 2011, they became an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University in the City of New York, where they taught courses on sustainability. In 2014, they became Managing Partner of The INSIGHT Group, a consulting firm focused on helping clients design and execute broad transformational initiatives. In 2016, they became a Lecturer at Stanford University, teaching courses on Smart Cities & Communities. Rich currently serves as Vice President of Strategy at UrbanLeap, a company helping cities solve their toughest challenges.
Rich Lechner obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
