Jayme Mallindine has had a diverse range of work experiences. They began their career as a Supervisor and peer educator for Outdoor Adventures, where they supervised staff, managed daily operations, and prioritized safety regulations from 2008 to 2011. Jayme then worked as an Instructor at the Harry Elkin Midrasha Community High School, where they taught and designed curriculum focused on leadership, civic engagement, and social issues. They were highly regarded by students and organized community service trips during their time there.
Afterwards, Jayme served as a Youth Coordinator & Camp Director at Rhode Island for Community & Justice, coordinating high school youth leadership and diversity programs and managing a week-long residential leadership institute. They also developed workshops and conducted outreach presentations for the organization.
Following this, Jayme worked at The University of Texas at Austin as a Graduate Assistant and Coordinator of Leadership & Diversity Student Programming. They supervised student leadership teams, developed leadership programs and workshops, and coordinated campus-wide events. They also facilitated workshops and dialogues and implemented a newsletter communication system.
In 2015, Jayme held roles at LearnDistrict as an Operations Coordinator/Site Lead for Girls Make Games and at Temple Beth Shalom, Austin as an Education Coordinator. At LearnDistrict, they managed operations for nationwide summer camps, including coordinating staff training, writing newsletters and social media campaigns, and fostering partnerships with video game studios. At Temple Beth Shalom, Jayme coordinated education programs, managed logistics, developed curriculum, and handled communications with stakeholders.
From 2017 to 2018, Jayme worked as the Site Lead for Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Programs in Austin, TX, where they supported teaching teams, nurtured students' interest in coding and computational thinking, and built relationships with technology companies and vendors to enhance the program experience.
Most recently, Jayme has been serving as the Director of URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy since 2018, overseeing the camp's operations and ensuring an enriching experience for campers.
Throughout their various roles, Jayme has consistently demonstrated their passion for education, leadership development, and fostering positive experiences for students.
Jayme Mallindine earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a double major in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. From 2013 to 2015, Jayme pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Game Studies / Asian Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, Jayme obtained several certifications, including Community Dialogue Moderator from the Community Mediation Center of Rhode Island in April 2013, Collaborative Leadership for Community, Religious, and Labor Leaders from the Institute for Labor Studies and Research in 2012, and Positive Youth Development from the BEST Training Initiative from Human Resources in Action (HRIA) of Boston, MA, in 2012. They also hold a certification in CPR/First Aid from the American Red Cross, although the specific date of completion is not provided.
