Alex Alcaraz has over 17 years of experience in aerospace and propulsion research and development. Currently serving as the Manager of Propulsion R&D Operations at Ursa Major since June 2019, Alex oversees the entire process from design review to test stand operations. Prior to this role, Alex was the Lead for Propulsion Research and Development at SpaceX from November 2013 to June 2019, where leadership of a specialized team focused on developing propulsion systems was a key responsibility. Earlier experience includes serving as a Manufacturing Team Lead at Robinson Helicopter Company from February 2006 to November 2013, managing production and overhaul processes for various helicopter models. Alex holds an A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Certification in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations from Westwood of Aviation Technology, completed in 2006.
