Donna Kamarei serves as the Re-Evaluation Team Leader at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since January 2014, overseeing the registration review of microbial and biochemical active ingredients and managing the reevaluation process of antimicrobial pesticides to align with health and safety standards. Previously, Donna held roles as a Risk Manager for Microbial Pesticides and Chemical Review Manager in the Antimicrobials Division, leading interdisciplinary teams in ecological and human health risk assessments. In late 2024, Donna contributed as a U.S. Embassy Science Fellow in Iceland, focusing on bilateral Arctic cooperation and energy developments. Earlier experience includes volunteering with the Peace Corps in Morocco on climate change adaptation and reforestation, leadership of scholarship teams at Appalachian State University, and a summer internship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in applied mathematics and marine science. Donna holds a Master's degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Appalachian State University.
