James Mattila

James Mattila is a Physical Scientist at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since June 2021, currently holding the title of ORISE Postdoctoral Fellow. Prior to this role, Mattila served as a Graduate Research Assistant in Delphine Farmer's research group at Colorado State University from January 2017 to June 2021, focusing on chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CIMS) calibration development and field measurements related to indoor and outdoor atmospheric chemistry. Earlier experience includes serving as a private chemistry tutor at James Madison University from August 2014 to July 2016 and conducting research on negative-ion electrospray mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) under Dr. Hughey. Mattila holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Colorado State University and an ACS Certified Degree in Chemistry from James Madison University.
