Laura E. Lawrence

Laura E. Lawrence is an accomplished environmental professional with extensive experience in the public sector. Currently serving as the EPA Unit Secretary for Engineers and Scientists of California, IFPTE Local 20, since January 2024, Lawrence has held multiple positions at the US Environmental Protection Agency since June 2015, including Senior Environmental Scientist and Policy and Regulatory Analyst, interim acting manager, team lead, and US/Mexico Border Program coordinator. Previous roles include Air Pollution Specialist at the California Air Resources Board, where contributions included establishing oversight structures for greenhouse gas reduction initiatives. Lawrence also has teaching experience in science, having worked at Piedmont High School, Brigham Young University - Idaho, and Santa Monica High School. Academic credentials include an MS in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science from UCLA, a Teaching Credential from UC Davis, and a BS in Zoology from Brigham Young University.
