Matt Brown

Matt Brown currently serves as the CFO and Executive VP of Finance and Procurement at DC Water since January 2015. In addition to this role, Brown holds the position of Chairman of the Board for the US Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Financial Advisory Board, a role assumed in July 2022. Previous experience includes serving as Budget Director for the Government of the District of Columbia and WMATA, as well as Director and Deputy Director positions at the District Department of Transportation. Brown's expertise in budget management was further developed through roles at Public Financial Management, the City of New York Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration in Budget and Public Finance from The George Washington University and a BA in Political Science from Texas Wesleyan University, complemented by leadership training at the GW Center for Excellence in Public Leadership.
