Stacy Shelton has extensive experience in environmental law and communications. Currently serving as an Attorney Adviser at the US Environmental Protection Agency since August 2022, Shelton previously held roles as an Assistant Attorney General with the State of Georgia and Associate Attorney at the Southern Environmental Law Center, where litigation support and legal analysis were primary responsibilities. Additionally, Shelton worked as an Adjunct Professor at Vermont Law School, teaching Bar Exam Skills to third-year law students. Prior experience includes serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Vermont Superior Court's Environmental Division and as a Public Affairs Specialist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Shelton began a career in journalism with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Stamford Advocate, eventually becoming an environmental reporter. Shelton earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) summa cum laude from Vermont Law and Graduate School, an MS in Journalism from Columbia University, and a BS in Political Science from Georgetown University.
