Gene Black is a retired Vice Admiral of the US Navy with a distinguished career in naval operations and strategic planning. They served as the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations from 2020 to 2022 and commanded the U.S. Sixth Fleet and Striking and Support Forces NATO, overseeing U.S. and NATO naval forces across multiple seas. Gene holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy and is currently pursuing an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School. Since 2025, they have been working as a senior consultant, leveraging their extensive experience in national and international defense strategy.
