AJ Ricketts has a diverse and extensive work experience. AJ started their career in 2011 as a Student Athlete at the University of Miami while also working as a Sports Director at WVUM 90.5 FM "The Voice". At WVUM, they were responsible for play-by-play commentary for various sports games and oversaw a team of broadcasters. In 2013, they interned at WEAR ABC 3 as a Sports Intern and also interned with the Miami Hurricanes Basketball team.

In 2014, AJ worked as a Broadcast Intern for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, where they conducted play-by-play commentary and postgame interviews on ESPN Pensacola 101.1 FM. AJ also created starting lineups and game notes using Adobe InDesign.

From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a Sports Anchor/Reporter for WECT News. AJ then joined ESPN+ in 2016 as a Play-by-Play Broadcaster. In 2017, they became the Play-by-Play Voice and later an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University.

In 2023, AJ Ricketts joined Apple TV+ as a Broadcaster in the MLS NEXT Pro. Their work experience showcases their skills in broadcasting, play-by-play commentary, sports reporting, and leadership in media roles.

AJ Ricketts pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sport Administration from the University of Miami, graduating in 2015.
