Patrick Cress has been in the workforce for over twenty years. Patrick began their career in 1995 as the Director - Wireless Repair at RMS Communications, where they were responsible for coordinating daily operations and direct customer support, as well as monthly travel to customer sites and negotiation of wireless repair agreements. In 2001, they joined CareFusion as a Consultant Product Implementation. Patrick then moved to Publix Super Markets in 2012, where they served as a Customer Service Representative. Most recently, they have been the Director of Customer Relations at USA Scientific since 2016.

Patrick Cress has a diverse educational background. Patrick began their educational journey in 1979 when they graduated from St John Lutheran School with a High School Diploma. Patrick then attended Tallahassee Community College from 1985 to 1986, earning an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General. Patrick then went on to attend Florida State University from 1983 to 1987, majoring in Business Administration and Management, General. In addition to their educational background, Cress has obtained numerous certifications from LinkedIn, including "Jodi Glickman on Make 'Em Love You at Work" (January 2023), "Building Resilience" (August 2022), and "Leading with a Heavy Heart" (August 2022).
