Chad Hardaway is currently the Executive Director at USC Columbia Technology Incubator. Prior to that, they worked as the Associate Director of Licensing at the University of South Carolina from June 2005 to October 2012. In their role, they worked with faculty, staff, startups, and private companies to identify and commercialize promising technologies. Chad was also responsible for all aspects of intellectual property management, including faculty outreach, evaluating invention disclosures, marketing technologies, patent preparation and prosecution, identifying licensees, negotiating option and license agreements, license monitoring, consulting on sponsored research agreements, assisting in new faculty start ups, and advising the University community on all aspects of technology transfer. During their time at USC, they were able to negotiate and execute 52 license agreements which brought in a total of $2.1M in license income.
Chad Hardaway attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, where they earned their JD. Chad also holds an MBA from the University of South Carolina and a BS in chemical engineering from the Darla Moore School of Business.
