Daniel Odongo

Director of Implementation at Ushahidi

Daniel Odongo is the current Director of Implementation at Ushahidi. Prior to this, they were an Academy Trainer at Code For Africa, where they were responsible for running data journalism trainings with partner newsrooms, universities and at local community events for Code for Africa in Uganda. Daniel has also worked as a Senior Associate - Programs at SHONA, where they were responsible for co-ordinating years 2-5 of the entrepreneur support program, supporting program improvement and design, continuously providing our portfolio companies with the resources they need to grow, and supporting SHONA's Monitoring and Evaluation.

Daniel has delivered over 100 hours of training to build the skills of students, journalists, and young women on tools and resources to use data for production and distribution of information this digital era. Daniel is passionate about using data to empower people and create social change.

Daniel Odongo has a MicroMasters in Data, Economics and Development Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BSc in Software Engineering from Makerere University.
