Derek Pacifico

Derek Pacifico, MBA, has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Derek is currently working at USO as the Director of Financial Systems, Planning & Analysis. Prior to this role, they held positions as the Director of Budget, Reporting & Analytics, Senior Manager of Budget, Reporting & Analysis, and Manager of Budget, Reporting & Analysis at the same organization. Before joining USO, Derek worked at The George Washington University Law School Development Office as a Development Assistant/Analyst for five years. Derek also gained experience as an Operations and Events Assistant at American University and a Development Assistant at Higher Achievement. Additionally, Derek has worked as a New Business Development Intern at FINCA International, a Development Assistant at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and an Assistant Director of Administration at Leadership Initiatives.

Derek Pacifico, MBA, earned their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Management Accounting and Project Management from The George Washington University School of Business in 2015-2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Nonprofit Management Graduate Certificate from The George Washington University in 2013-2014. Derek completed their undergraduate studies at American University, graduating with a BA in International Studies in 2009-2012. Derek also holds certifications such as the Financial Management Essentials Certificate and Nonprofit Accounting from NonprofitReady, as well as the Microsoft® Project 2016: Essential Training and SQL Essential Training from Lynda.com. Currently, they are studying for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Exam 1 & 2 through the Institute of Management Accountants. Additionally, they have obtained a Not-for-Profit Certificate from AICPA.
