Derek Newcomer

Derek Newcomer possesses extensive experience in environmental and occupational health, currently serving as Deputy Director at the National Institutes of Health since 2007, with additional roles including Acting Division Director and Chief of the Technical Assistance Branch. Concurrently, Derek serves in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Prior experience includes a safety and health role in the U.S. Army and a monitoring supervisor position at the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency. Derek's educational background includes a Doctor of Public Health degree from The George Washington University and multiple advanced degrees in Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Management from The University of Toledo and The University of Findlay.
