Tony Nguyen is an accomplished public health professional currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since June 2014. With a diverse background, Tony has held various positions, including Acting Branch Chief and Senior Medical Officer at the CDC, and as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. In addition to work at the CDC, Tony serves in the U.S. Public Health Service as a Captain. Prior experience includes serving as a Public Health Physician in the Virginia Department of Health, an Associate Pediatrician in private practice, and as a Brigade Surgeon/Pediatrician in the US Army.
