Erin Heard

Erin Heard possesses extensive experience in the field of information security and intellectual property, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) since July 2009, and has held various significant roles including Acting Deputy Director of the Office of Chief Information Security Officer, Supervisory Patent Examiner, Senior Advisor to Assistant Commissioners for Patents, and Primary Examiner. Prior experience includes a position as a Student Associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, and earlier roles as a Patent Examiner at USPTO and a Field Technical Sales Specialist at IBM. Erin Heard holds a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School, along with graduate studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from The Ohio State University.
