John Scancella

John Scancella is an experienced information technology professional currently serving as the Lead Information Technology Specialist at the USPTO since July 2021, leading the technical efforts for the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Center. Previously, John held roles as an Information Technology Specialist at the Defense Manpower Data Center and the Library of Congress, and worked as a Software Engineer at Boeing, where contributions included implementing modern software development processes such as continuous integration and automated testing. Earlier in John's career, positions included Application Engineer Intern at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where John documented installation procedures, and various internships with STV and Franciscan University of Steubenville, where John focused on software design and video conferencing technology. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Franciscan University of Steubenville.
