Laurie Switzer

Laurie Switzer is an experienced professional in volunteer management and the arts, currently serving as the Director of Volunteer Programs at the USS Midway Museum since July 2004, where responsibilities include recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers across various departments. With a long-standing career in the arts, Laurie has worked as an artist with a focus on mosaic murals and has held roles such as Assistant Director at Snyderman Gallery and Site Manager for the Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks. As a founding member and former chairman of the Cultural Volunteer Managers Council, Laurie contributed to promoting cultural volunteerism in the San Diego area. Educational credentials include an MFA in fine art from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFA in printmaking from Alfred University.
