Jay Villarreal

Jay Villarreal, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, CEH has extensive work experience in the field of information security and IT infrastructure. Jay is currently serving as the Director of Infrastructure & Security Engineering at UTHSCSA, where they are responsible for network and security engineering. Previously, they held the position of Sr. Manager of Information Security at City of Hope, where they led the security operations team and worked on threat and risk management activities. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager of IT Infrastructure Services at Gateway Business Bank, where they provided leadership to IT infrastructure teams. Jay also has experience as a Network Engineer at Washington Mutual Financial Services and in technical support roles at The Orange County Register and Momentum Securities.

Jay Villarreal, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, CEH obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from California State University, Long Beach in the years 2007 to 2010. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained various certifications including Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) from ISACA in 2015, GCIH from GIAC in 2014, CEH from EC-Council in 2013, and CISSP from (ISC)² in 2011. Jay also mentions having CCNA certification from Cisco and MCSE certification from Microsoft, but the dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
