Huw Fryer

Huw Fryer has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Huw is currently working as a Software Engineer at Utilifeed since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Ericsson as a Technical Lead and Software Engineer from 2018 to 2022. Huw also served as a Software Engineering Consultant at HiQ from 2019 to 2022. In addition, Huw worked as a Consultant at Software Skills in 2018. Huw has research experience as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton from 2016 to 2018, where they worked on various projects using Python, Jupyter, MongoDB, NodeJS, Docker, and Bash scripting. Before that, Huw served as a Web Developer at EPrints Services from 2014 to 2016, where they supported client installations and modified branding on the front end using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Huw also worked as a Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant at the University of Southampton from 2011 to 2014 and as a Database Assistant from 2012 to 2013. Their earliest work experience was as a Web Application Developer at tombola.co.uk from 2008 to 2010, where they worked on maintenance and content generation for websites using classic ASP and .NET. Overall, Huw has gained extensive experience in software engineering, research, and web development throughout their career.

Huw Fryer has a diverse education history. Huw began their academic journey at Newcastle University, where they earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in Law from 2004 to 2007. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science at the same institution from 2007 to 2008.

Huw then moved to the University of Southampton, completing a Master of Science (MSc) in Web Science from 2010 to 2011. Huw further advanced their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Web Science from the same university between 2011 and 2015.

Continuing their pursuit of knowledge, Huw enrolled in the University of Gothenburg, where they are currently studying part-time for a Master's degree in Applied Data Science. Huw is expected to complete this program in 2024.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Huw also holds a certification as a Level 2 Triathlon Coach from the British Triathlon Federation, obtained in June 2014.
