Sophia Orner-Thompson

Sophia Orner-Thompson is a skilled professional with diverse experience in patient scheduling, captioning, project management, graphic design, and animation. Currently serving as a Patient Scheduling Specialist at UW Health since August 2022, Sophia previously worked as a Captioning Assistant at CapTel Phone, where responsibilities included connecting with deaf or hard of hearing clients via a three-way relay system. Prior experience includes serving as Project Manager for the animated children's short film "Roarrr," and roles in graphic design and video editing at Specialty Cheese Company, where training videos and promotional materials were created. As a Media Lab Volunteer Educator at Madison Public Library, Sophia taught software skills to library visitors. Additionally, Sophia independently directed, edited, and animated "Outrun the Night," which gained recognition in multiple international film festivals. Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Animation from Columbia College Chicago and a Continued Education Certificate in Graphic Design from Madison Area Technical College.
