Aaron Monte is a prominent figure in the field of medicinal chemistry and pharmacology, currently serving as the Director of the UWL Emerging Technology Center for Pharmaceutical Development since 2011. Monte leads a multi-disciplinary research group focused on the discovery and development of novel drugs, particularly those derived from natural sources such as wild fungi and traditional herbal remedies. Additionally, Monte has been a Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse since 1995, teaching various courses and conducting significant research in drug synthesis and development. Further contributions include roles as Senior Academic Planner in the Office of Academic Affairs and Chairperson of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry.
