Dr. David M. Bynoe is an accomplished academic and professional in sustainable development and environmental economics, currently serving as the National Coordinator for the Global Environment Facility - Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) at UNDP since January 2013. In addition to this role, Bynoe is an Adjunct Professor of Sustainable Development at McGill University and a Lecturer in Resource & Environmental Economics at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Bynoe's extensive experience includes coordinating sustainable development courses and engaging in research partnerships, alongside previous roles as a researcher at the University of Twente focused on climate change adaptation in Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and as an agronomist with the Government of Barbados. Bynoe's educational background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Twente and advanced degrees in Environmental Economics and Agriculture from the University of York and the University of the West Indies.
