Maarten Buytaert

Maarten Buytaert currently holds the position of ASO Kindergeneeskunde at UZ Gent and serves as a PhD Candidate at Universiteit Gent, focusing research on pediatric metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease. Previously, Maarten was involved in various leadership roles including Bestuurder Financiën at Vlaamse Vereniging van Studenten, COVID-coördinatie at Student Kick-Off vzw, and served as the Voorzitter of the Gentse Studentenraad. Maarten also held positions as Vicevoorzitter and Team Lead Partners at Student Kick-Off vzw. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Medicine from Ghent University, alongside an Honours Programme in Life Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Medicine.
