Christophe Matthys

Christophe Matthys is an Extraordinary Professor at Stellenbosch University since March 2025, contributing to the academic programme of the Division of Human Nutrition within the Department of Global Health at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Matthys has held various positions at KU Leuven since October 2011, including Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor in Human Nutrition, as well as serving as the Scientific Coordinator of Clinical Nutrition at UZ Leuven. Prior experience includes managing the EURRECA Network at ILSI Europe and conducting post-doctoral research at Ghent University. Academic qualifications encompass a PhD in Medical Sciences with a focus on Nutritional Epidemiology from Ghent University and leadership certificates from the European Nutrition Leadership Platform and Vlerick Business School.
